In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, this year’s theme is “Christmas Across Canada.” The 2017 parade committee is encouraging all parade participants to light up their floats and showcase our Canadian traditions that reflect the beauty of the Christmas season.

“We want to focus on our country, the City of Brantford and all of the wonderful, diverse traditions that residents celebrate during this season,” says 2017 parade co-chair Jodi Laking.

The JCI Brantford Santa Claus Parade is one of the few parades that is held in the evening. It showcases the essence of the season when you see the lights turned on, hear carols playing in the background and feel the anticipation and excitement for the holiday season. It’s magic!

The parade will start on Stanley Street at 6pm and greet thousands of people on the way to Harmony Square, ending at Queen Street. Arrive early to get your seat!

“Thank you Brantford Power for being our Title Sponsor for the 2017 Santa Claus Parade!”

Co-chairs, Jodi Laking and Edward Darling, are excited to announce that Brantford Power will be their Title Sponsor again this year. “Sponsors are vital to the parade’s success! We are ecstatic to continue our partnership with Brantford Power and continue seeking additional sponsor support for the 2017 parade.”
JCI Brantford revised their sponsorship package to encourage all businesses, big or small, to be a part of Brantford’s biggest Christmas tradition and celebration. “We had over 25,000 spectators last year with many driving in from places like the GTHA region to witness the sights and sounds of our parade.”

For businesses, organizations and individuals who wish to participate in the parade, the parade committee encourages you to register by Saturday, November 4th. “This will help us ensure that we position and line up all entries including walking groups, floats, bands, and dignitaries in the best way possible.”

Additionally, the committee would like to ask parade participants to refrain from throwing anything from their float or handing out marketing materials to the public. This reduces the amount of litter and clean-up necessary during and after the parade.

All parade participants are encouraged to attend a participant’s meeting on Wednesday, November 22nd at TB Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre. This is where you will be provided with your line-up information, as well as route details.

When asked what makes the parade successful, the co-chairs said “Volunteers! We need around 100 people to help in the organization, preparation, set-up, and clean-up of the parade. Each year, we recruit volunteers for the parade including JCI members, their families, friends, students, and the public.
We are also very lucky and thankful to have the Brantford Police Auxiliary assist in keeping our volunteers, parade participants and the public safe.”

JCI Brantford will be collecting food for the Brantford Food Bank again this year. “The Brantford Food Bank is an important organization in our community and JCI Brantford is happy to continue supporting this initiative.” The committee encourages everyone attending the parade to bring non-perishable food items for volunteers to collect along the route.
Finally, the parade committee and co-chairs would like to say thank you to all the individuals and businesses that continue to support and assist in the success of the Santa Claus Parade.

Thank you for the continued cooperation from the City of Brantford, as well as local businesses and residences that are affected by the parade route.

Thank you to Santa! We are so excited that he chose to visit Brantford once again this year.

“It takes a village to run a successful event like the Santa Claus Parade. We can’t do it without all of you helping along the way!”
