The County of Brant hosted the 17th annual Salute to Brant Business event on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Over 250 local business owners and employees came together to network, celebrate success and enjoy an evening of festivities.

“We thank all the local business owners for choosing Brant. You bring innovation, diversity and job opportunities to the Brant community. We are honoured to celebrate successes with you and to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of so many local businesses. Salute To Brant is our opportunity to say thank you for being positive corporate citizens,” said Alison Newton, General Manager of Strategic Initiatives for the County of Brant.

During the evening, the County acknowledged six (6) local businesses.

This year’s award recipients were:
· St. George AppleFest for the #GoodtimesinBrant Award.
· BGI Retail for the High Growth Award.
· Creative Carriage Ltd. for the Innovation Award.
· Kiwanis Club of Paris Brant for the Community Influencer Award.
· Elberta Farms for the Agriculture/Agri-Business Award.
· adidas for the Sustainability Award sponsored by Energy+

This year’s recipient of the Innovation Award was accepted by Bob Nunn, the President of Creative Carriage Inc. “It is an honour to be chosen for this award. This is our 30th year in business. To be recognized for innovative and accessible transportation solutions serving people with disabilities across Canada is an honour,” said Nunn. “Since we moved our company to the County, we have been able to double our size. The County has been very supportive and cooperative and we have been able to hire great local talent to work with us.”
