The students and teachers at Braemar House School got a fun surprise on Tuesday, December 11th. Once all the kids got settled into the gym their surprise came out to greet them. Known for their amazing Celtic music performances, the Leahy’s brought an interactive and astounding performance of dance and music to the children.

The Leahy’s are now bringing a third generation of performers to the stage. Ranging in age from 8 to 16 (with three other little ones still practicing) the younger Leahy’s showed their skills with multiple instruments, vocals, and dance. Their precision in timing combined with their musical skills had the kids in awe. It was an inspiration to see kids their own age doing something so amazing.

With the performance, the Leahy’s sang some Christmas tunes and got the kids to join in with the sing-along too.
Afterward, I got a chance to ask them how they got inspired by music. As a family of musicians, they were brought up with music all around. It’s a part of them and performing gives them a chance to inspire others as well.
The Leahy’s are coming back to town on Sunday, December 16th for an even bigger performance at the Sanderson Centre. They’re sure to bring their outstanding skills to the stage, so make sure to get your tickets and join in the fun.
