The community is gearing up to celebrate life at one of the areas largest, feel-good events of the year! Join in the fun at the 15th Annual Hike for Hospice set for Sunday May 5th. Presenting Sponsors Methapharm Specialty Pharmaceuticals, and Remedy’s RX Specialty Pharmacy have made a huge commitment to the Hospice to help bring this wonderful event to life.

Each year, thousands of people register, sponsor a Hiker or donate to this event, held annually on the first Sunday in May, where Hospices across Canada host a Hike to raise awareness and much needed funding in support of Hospice care. All monies raised locally supports Stedman Community Hospice and the vital programs and services that rely on donor support.

The Hospice provides care for individuals who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, and support for the families of those individuals. These programs and services are offered free of charge to residents of Brantford, Six Nations, New Credit and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk. The success of Hike for Hospice is critical to ensuring that this level of compassionate care continues.

As strong advocates of Hospice care after their first-hand experience when their daughter Charlotte passed away at Stedman’s 2 days after her 5th birthday, Jeremy, Jessica and little sister Vienna Stewart were honoured to be pictured as this year’s Hike family. They were also impressed with the free Children’s Bereavement Program they accessed to help their daughter cope with the loss of her sister. Soon after the passing of Charlotte, the Stewarts’ welcomed little Lincoln “Charlie” to the family as well.

Registration for the Hike is only $20 which includes a commemorative Hike T-Shirt, lunch and family friendly games and activities like inflatables and a photo booth to capture precious memories.
