The County of Brant is thrilled to announce the official grand opening of the Pete Lavoie Little League Ball Diamond at Paris Lions Park.

“We invite you to join us on Saturday, June 8, 2019 for the grand opening celebrations,” said Mayor David Bailey. “It is going to be a wonderful event that celebrates how a community can work together to create something great for future generations.”

The event will include bouncy castles, Ace the Blue Jays’ mascot, giveaways, musical performers and the Lions Food Truck.

Renovations of the park began in 2017 and included expanding the ball fields, replacing the dug outs, installing new lighting, adding an accessible washroom and a concession stand, and improving the parking and walkways.

“This was a very large project. With the support of community partners and donors, we are celebrating the grand opening of these beautiful ball diamonds,” said Kathy Ballantyne, Director of Parks and Facilities for the County of Brant. “A special thanks goes to all the community partners and donors who made this dream a reality.”

The “Field of Continuing Dreams” fundraising campaign raised over $255,000 through generous community donations.

The Grand Opening will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 60 Laurel St. Paris. Activities begin at 10:00 am, the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is at 12:00 pm and the Ceremonial First Pitch is at 2:30 pm with a baseball game to follow.
