Who knew decades ago that wings would be a thing; let alone be the star of the show? Well, a number of years ago, owner of Wingmaster Tre Jones, wanted to make wings the star of his menu.
Before he opened his Erie Ave store, Tre got inspired by wings and started creating different flavours. He tested out different spices and combinations that would go well with wings. As he continued to work, he got better at creating flavours and started creating various sauces that would help elevate the wing to stardom.

Having created some great flavours, it just made sense to open up a wing shop. He commented, “I had a good product, so I rolled from there.” After asking what his inspiration was for wings he said, “At one point, wings were worthless. I just wanted to give them a success story. Make them the star.” So, with his numerous flavours and great wings, Tre opened his shop at 70 Erie Ave.

As the saying goes, ‘we’re not in the wing business, we’re in the flavour business.’ Having created about 500+ different flavours at one point, Tre certainly knows his stuff. In store though, they serve about 60 of the best flavours. They have pretty much every kind of flavour from dessert to creamy, BBQ to spicy, and of course they bring the heat with some really hot flavours too. As Tre says, “Everything wings we give it to you!”
Tre’s hottest flavour is called Blackenstein, which is made from the ‘Ghost Pepper.’ It’s the hottest in town and has an unimaginable heat to it; so tread carefully with this one. For those not looking to burn their tongue off, try the classic Honey Garlic, Creamy Dill Pickle, or his famous Apple Pie flavours. Of all his flavours, Tre’s favourite is the Buffalo wings with their old school charm.

Besides the wings, Tre also serves up some great accompaniments. Along with your wings, you can get fries or onion rings, or even upgrade to a poutine. And for a starter you can enjoy foods like Deep Fried Pickles, Mozzarella Sticks, or Battered Mushrooms. And to round out your meal, dig in to some tasty Deep Fried Oreos!
When you walk inside the shop, you might find some familiar faces on the walls. A few years ago, they had a colouring contest of an image of Tre’s face. He’s kept quite a few of them and there are some that are pretty awesome renditions too.

Along with the artwork are some city names that have been written on the walls. As people come in from all over, they get the chance to write their city on the wall. Over the years, Tre has got a long list of locations going. There are local places like Guelph, Toronto, and London, but then there’s some more distant ones too. Some of the farthest have come from Alaska, Newfoundland, Texas, Nigeria, and Hong Kong.
This list of locations is a big testament to the great product and great flavours Wingmaster has to offer. They’re large, high quality and fresh wings made with the best flavours around.
Whether you want to get a kick of heat or tantalize your sweet tooth, Wingmaster is the place to go. As Tre says, “Wings are something that everyone loves.” So head on down to their shop on 70 Erie Ave, or you can check out their website at www.wingmaster.ca for more information.
