Situated inside the well known Best Western Brantford Hotel & Conference Centre, Myra’s Bar & Grill serves not only hotel guests, but also serves up some delicious food for local events, meetings, and the general public looking to enjoy some all-around good food.

Previously known as Kirby’s, Myra’s Bar & Grill still serves up the same great food. A few years back there was a name change as the owners wanted to honour the birth of their daughter. But even though the name had changed, they’re still offering their locally famous buffet and tasty foods just as before.

For the last three years, chef Jason Canham has been heading up the kitchen as Myra’s Executive Chef. Plus, he has another four years under his belt as Sous Chef before that. And in total, he’s been a Red Seal Chef for 19 years now. His experience and skill in the kitchen helps make sure that your wedding, special event or lunch buffet turns out to be a delicious occasion.

Chef Jason had a passion for cooking pretty well all his life. He lived in a fast-paced family going from one sports game to another. Which meant that they had to make quick meals like mac & cheese a lot. But after awhile he got tired of the same thing all the time and decided to start experimenting. And from there his passion and skill started to grow. Nowadays, one of chef Jason’s favourite things to make is a great steak. He also enjoys creating soups and other specialties, especially for events like the St. Leonard’s Soup Challenge that happens every February.

As with all important things, it’s not just one person that makes everything great. It’s also about the team. “We’ve got a great team here. It’s a fun, competitive kitchen,” said chef Jason. Regularly they like having in house competitions to create specialty items. This will happen specifically for the Soup Challenge, but they’ll also compete with chilis and burgers too. Recently, Myra’s won the People’s Choice Award at the Soup Challenge with a delectable soup created by Stephen Slater.

All this team work and competitive inspiration comes out in their regular food too. They have lots of variety that’s sure to get your taste buds going. Prepared fresh every day, Myra’s always serves their lunch buffet from Tuesday to Friday and has their regular menu from 5 to 830pm. And every day they have specials going like Family Tuesday and Wing Wednesdays. Plus, every Sunday they offer their famous Sunday Brunches.

Myra’s also holds special buffets and services for many of the big events throughout the year. Coming up in April will be their much-anticipated Easter Brunch. Every year they get about 500 guests coming to enjoy their food and of course to see the Easter Bunny! The Easter Bunny has been coming for about 20 years now and is always a big hit with the kids. The Easter Brunch this year will be on Sunday, April 21st. If you can’t make it out to their Brunch, you can always come by for their special Easter Dinner as well.

As Spring keeps bringing warmer weather, Myra’s is looking forward to a little ‘Spring cleaning’ of their menu. Every half year or so they like to keep things fresh and give their menu and little update or to switch out a few seasonal options. They’re also looking forward to opening up their patio and getting ready for wedding season too. Plus, Mother’s Day is just next month, so stay tuned for their special Mother’s Day Brunch as well.

With so much going on and so much great food to offer, there’s always something great to taste at Myra’s. So head on over to the Best Western at 19 Holiday Drive and enjoy tasting the food at Myra’s Bar & Grill for your next event, meeting or night out with the family.
