Event Details

Arcady invites you again to Whistling Gardens on Saturday, August 6 at 4:00pm. The concert, entitled Voices of Summer, will feature two jubilant excerpts from Ronald Beckett’s opera John alongside his captivating piece The Creatures Call and other beloved gems. Voices of Summer will also celebrate the winners of the 2021 RBC Emerging Artist Composer Competition and new works by talented young composers Benjamin Gabbay, Tate Pumfrey, and Emma Theresa Verdonk. Patrons will be treated to an array of music for string quartet, flute, clarinet, keyboard, and percussion all led by David Rehner. The vocal soloists for the event include Emerging Artist Anna Wojcik and shining sopranos Paula Thomas and Michaela Chiste, mezzo-soprano Abigail Freeman, and tenor Lanny Fleming.

Included in this event will be Arcady’s annual silent auction. It will feature spectacular workmanship from the finest local artists along with gift cards to Brantford’s small businesses and prints of stunning nature photography.
