Does your Soul need a getaway to be filled with creative energy? Is it looking for creative inspiration? Let us lead you down the road to self-discovery, art and mindfulness with Artist Ella Balkwill in the beautiful atmosphere of Five Oaks Retreat Centre just outside of Paris, Ontario.

The Workshop:

Cold wax and oil painting is a mixture of oil paint and cold wax. The class will learn different techniques using this type of medium. In this introductory class, we will be learning about using different tools for layering, using solvent reductions, scraping back, adding pastels, and using stencils. This is for the artist who has always wanted to have fun painting loosely and freely as we will be doing a lot of abstract art. As the student becomes more familiar with this type of medium, fine art can also be mastered.

Your creative days will be on the instruction of using cold wax and oil paint for the many techniques and applications of this rich and freeing medium. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with an hour for lunch (provided) and finish at 4 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.

Sit by the Grand River or walk along the edge of Whiteman’s Creek; swim in the heated pool or gather with other participants around the campfire enjoying conversation that nourishes the soul.
