Admission to the premiere is free to the general public.

Researcheers at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) have partnered with the Woodland Cultural Centre to unveil the multimedia storytelling collaboration: WhereWeStand.  The project brought together a cohort of Indigenous peoples (Mi’kmaw, Cree, Ojibway, Inuit and Métis) and newcomers to co-create expressions of identity on the colonial construct of Canada, situated on Turtle Island. The premiere will feature short films, dance, and spoken word performances.

WhereWeStand invites participants to examine their identity and connection to the Land that sustains and shelters Indigenous peoples and newcomers. Identity and belonging are not fixed but ebb, flow and evolve as the land beneath us shifts. WhereWeStand invites our participants to deconstruct Canada’s colonial past and reimagine their relationships with the Land and its people.
