Event Details

I am excited to host/guide two (2) historic walking tours of the village of Burford in conjunction with “Jane’s Walk” Community Living, Brant and Belonging Brant.

The first walk, in the afternoon Saturday May 4th (2pm to 4pm),will concentrate on the early Settlement of Burford, which will take the walkers from the existing village downtown core out to the west end, along King Street, where the first settlement in the area was founded over 230 years ago. Along this route other significant sites will be identified including Burford’s first School site(1808), First Inn & Blacksmith Shop (1794), The first Post Office site(1819) along with points of interest relating to the War of 1812-14.

Meet at the south west corner of King St. & Maple Ave. in the Parkette (for both walks).

People can still park at the community parking lot a block each of there at Park Ave. and King St. or any place along King St. or Maple Ave.
