County Tree Planting

Event Details

If you’re looking for ways to get involved in this year’s Earth Week activities, plan to be a volunteer at the County of Brant Community Tree Planting event.  Our goal is to plant 600 trees!

This event will take place on Sat. April 23 from 10:00am to 1:00pm, located at 319 Grand River Street North in Paris, behind Sobeys.

The tree planting event is open to the public and there is no need to sign-up in advance.  Participants are asked to bring a shovel, but shovels will be on site if needed.  Tree planting benefits wildlife by creating habitats for birds and animals and helps clean the air.  This year’s tree planing area is in a source water protection zone and the tree planting will help filter and clean the land.

Special thanks to the Paris District High School students, the grand River Conservation Authority and Earth Week Committee Members for their time and efforts.

If you are unable to attend, there are several ways to celebrate Earth Week at home and in your community.  The Recreation and Parks Divisions will be running a photo contest, in addition to providing at home resources to celebrate.  Residents can sign up for a community clean up, join our Adopt-A-Road program and much more.
