Brantford Summer Music launches its inaugural season with three exciting concerts celebrating the incredible diversity of the City. Indigenous composer/performer Tomson Highway, recent recipient of a the Governor General’s Award, presents his Songs in the Key of Cree on Wednesday July 13th. The stunning gospel choir, Toronto Massed Choir, conducted by Brantford’s Karen Burke, performs on Saturday July 16th. Sunday July 17th brings Simcoe concert pianist Bryn Blackwood, recent winner of the prestigious Eckhardt-Gramatte Prize.
Simcoe-born award-winning classical pianist Bryn Blackwood will perform at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford on Sunday July 17 at 7 p.m. His program will include works by Scriabin and Brahms, among others. Blackwood has just completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts at U of T, and will embark on a solo tour of Canada’s East Coast this November. Don’t miss this chance to hear one of the country’s brightest lights perform in our area!
