Event Details

Join Mackenizie Sheppard from the County of Brant to learn more about the Bee City Canada Pollinator Program! The County is dedicated to fostering healthy habitats for pollinators and promoting healthy and sustainable horticulture practices. We are proud to be designated the 82nd Bee City as of 2023! Join us as we cultivate growth, nurture biodiversity and create a welcoming environment for all living things, big and small, who call the County of Brant their home.

Bee City Canada is a national organization that promotes pollinator conservation in Canada by collaborating with municipalities, schools, and businesses to encourage the establishment of pollinator gardens, reduction of pesticide uses and raise awareness about the importance of pollinators. Bee City Canada also provides resources and recognition to communities that commit to their program. Their work contributes to biodiversity preservation and the well-being of both pollinators and humans.

As a Bee City the County of Brant commits to the following:

  1. Creating, maintaining and/or improving pollinator habitat.
  2. Educating their community, employees and/or customers about the importance of pollinators.
  3. Celebrating pollinators during National Pollinator Week or at other times.
