Introduction to Canning

Event Details

No canning experience required!  This workshop will introduce participants to: the tools required for hot water bath canning, safe food handling guidelines for canning, how to select and prepare ingredients for a recipe, how to fill jars and process them in a hot water bath, how to check the jar seal and how to store the canned products safely.  The workshop will be facilitated by Brant Community Food Educators who are trained in safe food handling and experienced with helping our community choose, prepare and preserve healthy food.
