The Royal Canadian Legions within the County of Brant will celebrate Remembrance Day ceremonies privately and virtually this year.
“It’s very important that we celebrate and honour the brave men and women who have fought for our country and our freedoms,” said Mayor David Bailey. “Although we are unable to gather in-person, we can still honour our veterans safely from home. The Legions will offer virtual services and I encourage all residents to observe 11:00 am for a moment of silence.”
The local Legions are requesting the public’s cooperation to respect the invite-only ceremonies that are planned. “It is important that during the COVID-19 pandemic, we do our part to protect those who are vulnerable in the community,” said Mayor David Bailey. “The Legions are doing the best they can and if you’d like to show your support, please stay home and tune into a virtual Remembrance Day ceremony.”
