On August 13, 2019, the County of Brant was thrilled to receive a $15,000 donation from Brant Waterways Foundation for paving the Nith River Trail at Lion’s Park in Paris.

“We are so grateful for this donation and the incredible and important work Brant Waterways Foundation does in our community,” said Mayor David Bailey. “Trails and rivers improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”

This paved, scenic and accessible path is well used by families and individuals of all ages and complements the park’s beauty and leisure activities.

The Nith River Trail is the first project completed with funds raised through the Foundation’s Trail Improvement and River Access (TIRA) campaign. TIRA’s vision is to inspire healthy communities through connections to the Grand River and its adjacent lands/trails, and to promote world-class outdoor recreational opportunities that respect natural ecosystems.
