After extensive discussions and meetings with city planners and Santa, JCI Brantford has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s JCI Brantford Santa Claus Parade.

Due to current emergency measures, and reduced planning time to come up with a safe and inclusive alternative, the committee and Santa made the decision to not move forward with running the parade this year.

Our primary concern is the wellbeing of Brantford’s families and volunteers. Despite efforts to reduce risk, such as scheduled time slots for staggering spectators, the JCI Brantford parade planning committee couldn’t feasibly create a plan that included float participants, volunteers and spectators, within current safety rules.

We consulted with the Jolly Old Elf himself, and he wants to ensure every child is healthy and happy on Christmas morning, surrounded by loved ones who are also healthy and happy. In order to be sure Santa is able to deliver presents on Christmas morning, he’s imposing self isolation for the elves, Mrs Claus, and himself.

On behalf of JCI Brantford and the parade committee, we hope you have a safe and happy conclusion to 2020 and we’ll see you next year in the Fall for 2021 JCI Brantford Santa Claus parade registration kickoff.
